Power over Ethernet (PoE)

You can power DoorBird products using the integrated network interface with a Power over Ethernet (PoE) switch or injector.

We use the standard PoE 802.3af Mode-A, which requires only four wires of a network cable, making for an easy installation.

We can recommend the following products, as they are regularly used by us:

  • DoorBird A1093 Gigabit High-PoE Injector (PoE injector - 1 PoE port)
  • TP-Link TL-PoE150S (PoE injector - 1 PoE port)
  • D-Link DGS-1008P (PoE switch - 8-port switch with 4 PoE ports)
  • NETGEAR GS108PP (PoE switch - 8-port switch with up to 7 usable PoE ports)
  • Linksys LGS116P-EU (PoE switch - 16-port switch with 8 PoE ports)
  • NETGEAR GS116PP (PoE switch - 16-port switch with up to 12 usable PoE ports)

Most PoE switches and injectors support PoE 802.3af Mode-A, as it is an industry standard in which data transmission and power supply occur over the same wire pairs.
However, there are also incompatible PoE switches and injectors that do not support the PoE 802.3af Mode-A standard, as they might have separate wire pairs for data transmission and voltage supply.
For further information, you can refer to the manufacturer´s manual for each PoE switch or injector.
